Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

Placeholder — do not publish as-is. This is the structure of the policy, written against what the app actually does today. It needs review before the first store submission, because Apple and Google both require a published URL and both reject apps whose declared privacy practices do not match the binary.

The short version

Your scores, your account, and your subscription live on your device and with the stores you bought through. We do not sell data, and we do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this website.

What stays on your device

The song library, imported score files, interface settings, and the count of your free connection time are stored locally on the device that created them. Deleting the app removes them. Nothing in that list is uploaded.

What we receive

Purchases in the App Store and Google Play

A subscription bought on iOS or Android is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We receive a confirmation that an active entitlement exists; we do not receive your name, your payment details, or your store account.

MIDI data from your instrument

Notes, timing, and any fret-position data from a connected guitar are processed on your device to draw the fretboard and grade your playing. They are not transmitted and are not stored after the app closes.

This website

playcheckguitar.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, embeds no third-party scripts, and loads no fonts or images from anyone else's servers. Whoever hosts it keeps standard server logs.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold, ask us to delete it, or ask us to close the account entirely: [email protected]. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play have to be deleted through those stores.

Children

PlayCheck Guitar is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

Material changes are posted here with a new date. We will email account holders directly if a change affects their data.
